Interwar period

The interwar period was one of the major causes of the second world war. Indeed, the victors and the vanquished have never managed to reconcile following the divide created by the war. The Weimar Republic established after the Armistice was greatly weakened by extremist political parties of Germany, despite countless efforts to maintain peace and unity within Germany, it finished by collapse, when Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of the Reich in January 1933. The national socialist ideology then could grow gradually, introducing new racial laws, the new social-political dogmas, reducing to nil the make-believe democracy and freedom that was attempting to create the Weimar Republic. The massive rearmament of Germany and the passivity of the Allies have had disastrous consequences for all of the humanity.
